At the Winnemucca Amateur Radio Society, our mission is to promote amateur radio as a means of communication and community service. We aim to educate the public about the benefits of radio technology and emergency preparedness. Some of our members are also active in the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). ARES is always looking for hams to help on the Emcom side of this wonderful hobby.
if you are looking for your first ham radio license, or an upgrade, please contact us and we can steer you in the best direction!!
We intend to schedule regular in person meetings, combined with the use of Zoom to provide easy access for rural hams.
